Air diversion panel

OK so most company's sell air diversion panels any were from 30-100 bucks now if your a baller on a budget that has access to some tools and some free time then here is a cheap way to make your very own air diversion panel for around 15 bucks and a little bit of time
Materials needed:
QTY ITEM
- 1 masking tape
- 1 desired gauge metal
- 1 paper or anything else to draw/trace your template i used masking tape
Tools needed
- power drill
- Marker / pencil
- Dremel with cutting disc
- step bit any of the sizes
- measuring tape
--------------------Once you have all the materials and tools needed you are going to start by making your template for your air diversion panel
your going to measure from one side to the other side of your radiator this is how wide your panel will be
next measure 1/4 inch from the radiator spout to 1/4 inch past the bold closet to the edge of your bumper or the bolt holding your bumper
keep note of this you will use it to purchase the proper size sheet of metal
now your going to tape your paper to your radiator support within the measurements you just took
once your done taping it down your are going to trace the position of every bolt and clip within your air panel area
now trace were the hood latch is make sure to give some leeway on the size it is better to have to in large a hole then having a hole to big and nothing to do
now cut out the parts of your template that you will be removing from your metal to make your diversion panel
--------------------Once you have finished making your template and have your desired metal time to lay your pattern
place your template over your metal and begin tracing out you pattern onto the metal make sure to do so reversed that way if there is a blemish it will be hidden from sight
once you have your pattern on your metal double check all of your measurements
now begin cutting out the outer edges of your template once finished double check measurements once more
after your outer parameter has been finished do a mock fit now its time to start doing all of your bolt holes and latch
remove a bolt to use as fitment reference for your holes each size bolt should be drilled as close as possible to factory size to insure a correct fit
once your have used your step bit to drill your holes its time to move onto the hood latch now
with your dremel and your cutting disc cut the outer most edge of your line all of the way around till piece falls out on its own
now that you have all of your holes cut do another mock fit to make sure you have no more changes to make to your panel
--------------------Once you have finished making your air diversion panel its time to ......
now that your done you can use sand paper to clean up your edge work
if you and you can paint your panel a color of your liking
mounting your air panel is real easy just remove all bolts and brackets use some double stick tape on one side of your panel place the panel down and start reinserting all your bolts and tightening them to spec
once everything is tight make sure your hood closes correctly you might need to adjust the latch a bit since the metal adds addition height to the radiator support
now your done enjoy your new air diversion panel
(more write ups to come) (sorry bout pics i forget to take them sometimes ill make another one and put pics up)
